People of all ages were queuing with droopy eyes outside the store for long hours; just for the first glimpse. It was a moment, almost, never witnessed before in the world of consumer electronics before 9th January 2007.
Meanwhile, 4 iPhone versions came in and went out without reaching that pinnacle of longing. Don’t mind; iPhone 5 is going to relive that glory. Apple is pulling lot of strings at foreground and background to keep the would-be latest version right at the center of the spotlight.
Too much of expectations are popping up around this iPhone 5, which is not even an official name. Too many safeguarded secrets await us from Apple. Let’s try to spill 5 of them.
Slimmer and longer
It’ll be longer than the predecessors. That’s a consensus. We expect a stretch of 10 mm, which would take length of upcoming phone to 125 mm. That implies a bigger display of 4-inches. Overall, form factor will be almost the same. Backside would sport solid metal cover, starting from just below the back-mounted camera.
That would be a sure-coming feature. Bigger display size would accommodate better resolution. How that’s going to happen? It’s difficult to visualize at this moment. We have retina display, which is arguably the best. With bigger screen, retina might get lot better that what we are seeing till date.
A quad-core processor
Almost all the competitors are flaunting quad-cores. Dual-cores are looking mediocre in world of high-end smart phones. Now the question is – are we going to get A5 or something better like A6? Our vote is definitely A6 as post-Steve Job Apple won’t take much chance with specs. We are in fact now trying to gauge how stunning iOS will feel?
Long term evolution
LTE is on the card for sure. Simple logic is competitive advantage. Samsung and its top-end smarty is the biggest challenge before Apple right now. With already launched Samsung 4G phone Apple has only one choice left – long term evolution. That will be good news for buyers as they will have network flexibility.
That’s the card within the sleeve. It’s an existing technology called inductive charging. However, it’s never heard of in the mobile world. This is going to be a real fun and useful stuff.
Surely, iPhone 5 will show up in 2012, but the release date is not confirmed. Some people say that it is expected to release in somewhere October, 2012. Everybody is betting for coming fall. It’s time to wait with closed eyes and coupled hands.
