Is Motorola Xoom tablet getting a JellyBean update?

Motorola has always combined design and technology in brilliant ways. Cast your mind to the sleek Razr V3i and you will see that the statement is true. When it needed to design a tablet, Motorola got in touch with Google and used the Android to create one amazing piece of technology. It comes loaded with more features and hardware that is designed to give you a fabulous experience.

There’s the 32 GB internal storage, 1 GHz Tegra 2 from NVIDIA, HD video, Wi-Fi and other functions. The battery life on the Xoom is better than that of any other player in the market, offering you up to eight and a half hours of performance.

The Xoom is considered to be a replacement to the laptop with its software and browsing experience. Surfing the net is clean and efficient and it is a delight to experience a revamped- for- Honeycomb- Gmail option. Whether it is media, data or apps, the Xoom is an enjoyable experience across the board. Some apps we should talk about like the news reader, Pulse and Google Body with its 3D simulation.

What we are hearing now is that the Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi is getting an update in the form of the Jelly Bean. As it is the Wi-Fi version is considered superior to the other Xoom tablets in 4G and 3G. The user interface is better and the machine responds almost intuitively. What we can hope for with this update is better maps and better voice options.

The presence of Jelly Bean in Xoom is not a completely new idea. The tablet was introduced with Android 3.0 Honeycomb and then moved on to Ice Cream Sandwich. But we do believe that an updated version means better performance, especially in searches and announcements. The update will be available to users in the U.S.A. for starters.

What this means is a strong contender to the iPad and other tablets that seem to dominate the market. As we have already seen, in many ways the Xoom far surpasses the other players in the market. With Jelly Bean, it could do more.

The 79 MB update has many cool features:

  • Widgets that let you set up your home screen easily and effectively.
  • Better keyboard with an updated dictionary.
  • Notifications those are easy to access and use.
  • Better voice to words option that does not need a data connection
  • Superlative viewing experience.
  • Photograph sharing features for better viewing and management of pictures.
  • The ‘Gesture Mode’ that allows visually—challenged users to handle the Xoom with ease, using touch and talk inputs.  What’s more, this support is extended to Bluetooth and USB devices too.

We have not heard anything official yet but who knows, you might get lucky with the update button, so do check it out! Motorola will need to move fast because there are other devices waiting to take its place, including a few from the house of the HTC and the Asus Transformer Tablet.

Jelly Bean and Xoom could be the combination that we’ve all been waiting for.
