Design and appearance
Galaxy notebook 2 has physical dimensions of 151.1 mm*80.5mm*9.4mm. the device weighs approximately 183g. This version is a bit longer in height and has reduced width than the original notebook. This phablet formed device fits perfectly into pouches and pockets. The device is crafted with plastic materials and the curved edges are surrounded by glossy silver frame that is made up of hard plastic material and will bear accidental drop downs. The device is available in Titanium Gray and marble white colors. The phone in both colors is polished with glossy finish. The headphone jack in the notebook 2 has been placed at the left corner; besides this all physical buttons are on the same locations as in original galaxy notebook. The stylus called S pen for this version is placed at back on the bottom right.

Galaxy notebook 2 comes with HD Super AMOLED touch screen. The screen is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 to make the screen scratch resistant. The screen displays lush vibrant colors and smooth visuals. The touch screen is highly responsive. The screen is 5.5 inches wide from the diagonal view. The screen resolution is 720*1280 pixels paired with RGBG sub-pixel matrix.

The notebook 2 is powered by 1.6GHz quad core Exynos 4412 Cortex A9 chipset CPU along with Mali 400 MP GPU. The device has a RAM of 2GB. The phone comes with three memory variants (16, 32, and 64 GB). Memory can be expanded up to 64 GB via microSD cards.
The S pen
The S pen in notebook 2 is more power oriented. Upon detaching the S pen from the phone, the device vibrates to inform you that S pen is now out. The S pen is lighter and less glossy allowing more firm grip.
Battery
Galaxy notebook 2 packs 3100 mAh Li-ion battery that can be removed easily. The battery is powerful enough to keep the device running for longer durations of time.
