Tips for Finding Great Gaming Gear on Black Friday

Black Friday is right around the corner, and this may be a great opportunity for you to pick up some of those big-ticket gaming items that you’ve been eyeing for a while. Of course, quantities are limited, so if you’re going to score the best deals this year, there are some things you can do to find the gear you want at a good price.

Black Friday Laptops, Consoles, and Tablets

Every year, some of the most highly sought-after items are laptops, gaming consoles, and mobile devices. This means that many retailers and manufacturers are willing to significantly discount those items to try and bring more customers into the store. Unfortunately, this also means they sell really fast and you may not be in time to get the deal.

With the holidays coming up, gaming laptops, PCs, and consoles will be extremely popular items. That doesn’t mean it will be impossible to get the best deals. It just means you will have to be a little more methodical about your process.

Start Early

If you want to get the best deals on your gaming equipment, you will have to start researching and shopping early. Most retailers and manufacturers have already begun leaking their Black Friday deals (some even started before Halloween), so you need to find out exactly what will be on sale at one time and in which location.

You should also keep in mind, though, that Black Friday has transcended normal space time and it now extends to the Thursday before (most of us call it Thanksgiving) until the Monday after (when we start calling it Cyber Monday). Keep your eyes open for deals as soon as they become available and you’ll have a better chance of getting the needed equipment.

Discover New Resources

There are a lot of ways to find out about different deals on Black Friday. First, see if there are any aggregate deal sites that list all the deals they’ve found. It’s a great way to browse different games, systems and accessories without clicked through all the different websites yourself. You should also be sure to follow big manufacturers and retailers on Twitter and Facebook so you will have first-hand knowledge of any major deals when they happen. While a lot of these deals may only apply to in-store items, some of them also offer special online deals through the entire weekend.

You should also be open to different kinds of deals from the gaming industry. Sometimes retailers would have to take a major loss on new equipment and games if they discount them too much, so instead of reducing the price, they may offer gift cards to their store. You may have to pay full price for the game, but you can recoup some of the costs on a later purchase.

Have a Backup Plan

There are going to be a lot of gamers just like you out looking for the best deals this Black Friday, which may cause some problems. You may not make it to the line outside the store in time to get that new laptop, or the server crashes when the online retailer offers an incredible deal. A lot of things can get in your way so it’s important to have a Plan B. Know where you will go if one location runs out of stock, or where to make a quick price comparison before you make a purchase. This all comes back to doing a lot of research before the big day so you won’t run out of options as you hunt down the best deals.
